This production was a critical success with a poignant script by Paul Amato
It was based on an ancient story, made popular through the original French folk-tale told in the 1700’s by Jeanne-Marie LePrince de Beaumont.
It is a universal concept. Who hasn’t felt like the beast, seen only for the outside and not what can blossom inside?
Like the Beast, Belle is seen as “different” in her village. It is only through the act of caring for one another that they both take their rightful place (king and queen) in their society. |
